Juan Pablo de Bonet is my favorite person to go down in the Deaf community history because all he did. He established many schools, made some signs for his deaf child and the schools he established as well as teaching them, he was a hearing man that really connected with the deaf community and realized that it was wrong for the deaf to be robbed of there fundamental rights and basically not really even treated like humans. The deaf were always easily traced by being non educated and not able to be educated at all, so therefore, people thought that they didn’t even matter at all. They couldn’t get married, work or have basic needs delivered to them, some were forced to have a hearing guardian around them at all times to help others. No one cared about the deaf, nor did they want to either.
